I was so excited when I read that -*drum rolls* -Kate Moss will be honoured with the Award of Fashion Influence at the Council of Fashion Designers of America's annual ceremony on June 6. *Squeals and cheers for one of my fav style icons* For those who don't know, the CFDA awards are equivilant to fashion Oscars awards.

Kate Moss, who is one of the reasons why this season's trend is boho luxe, and who was just recently voted as best dresser by Glamour magazine, is now 31 years old, but it seems her style is not fading as she ages. Also, Kate has been called a muse by many photographers, including the famous Mario Testino and Nick Knight.

So what qualifies her as a 'fashion influence'? Simple answer: Whatever she wears hit high street stores a few weeks after she wears it, and everybody, from normal ppl like us to celebrities and fashion experts can not help but want to copy her look. Kate first used Balenciaga bags years before it became so popular last year. The unknown Austrlian UGGs also became famous after being worn by Kate. Kate, who is the queen of THE cool English crowd, names Sadie Frost and Stella Mc Cartney as her best friends.

Get more SLEEP with these. .

A recent survey done by the National Sleep Foundation, shows that three quarters of adult Americans don't get enough sleep. The average adult American have 6.9 hrs of zzz's a day, while according to experts adults need a minimum of 7-9hrs a night. Not only will lack of sleep lead to grumpiness and increase in motor accidents as people become drowsy while driving, but to dark cirlces, acne and low metabolism!!!! And so in order to help everyone catch more sleep , we thought these cute night wear would help. . .

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
One can want to look super cute in this bright polka dot Victoria's Secret matching PJs. . .

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Or these adorable multicolor polka dot matching PJs from Nick and Nora's.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com
One can even mix and match, like this Old Navy set. This is by far my favourite, I have something very similar myself.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Or you may prefer to look pretty and feminine in a gown, such as this lovely Burberry nightgown and robe.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Maybe even feminine AND sexy in this Oscar de la Renta chemise. There reallly isn't any fashion in night wear (not that I know off anyway). At the end of the day, I think it all comes down to comfort and personal preference. Which nightwear do YOU prefer?

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com
And do match your nightwear with super fluffy, super soft, warm and comfy slippers such as the one on the left from Mark and Spencer or the one of the right from Amy Jo Gladstone.

Complete this with these Lavendar scented products from Crab Tree and Evelyn. Lavendar soothes and destresses you, which helps you sleep. Have a good night everyone!!!

Blazer Spring/Summer 2005 Trends

Blazers is another ESSENTIAL item of one girl's wardrobe. Blazers are the perfect outwear for many occasions, formal and informal. They make a girl look well-dressed, slim and way cool. So you might be thinking, blazers have trends? Yes they do! In fact, I only started noticing this fact this season, so I thought I must share this insight with you all.

This season, blazers are striped: striped by lines of the main color except of a lighter or darker hue, or white. Also, it seems like blue, preferably that particular hue which is lighter than navy blue, is THE color.

Starting with a down to earth selection, this blazer, with the nautical theme in mind, is by Lux from Urban Outfitters.

One of my favourites here by Free People from Urban Outfitters too. The grey hoodie attached at the back is a great way to look casual and layered without making yourself look puffy.

A more pricy blazer by Harveys sold at girlshop.com. Notice that having only one button seems to be quite popular.

A special piece by Anthropologie. It is quite unique, although those with simple taste may not like it.

Pretty in pink stripes by Marc by Marc Jacobs to celebrate spring!
Oh, and I forgot to mention, blazers this season are also slightly shorter than before. So you can look cute and cool at the same time!

Blouse Trends Spring 2005

In every wardrobe, there should be at least one blouse/collared shirt or whatever else you call them (What IS the exact term for it?)). They are essential for work or interviews when you need to dress up and look formal and professional. They are great for casual and works with absolutely anything. They are perfect for layering. But even the wardrobe staple gets a fashionable twist now and then. This season, the trend for the white blouse is to be tucked in, loose, feminine and colorful.

Ah, the classical Prada blouse(left). Prada makes the absolute best best best blouse around. It is an absolute MUST have. And the Chloe blouse(right). Although not the best around, one must appreciate the subtle white pattern and the colored details inside making the ordinary blouse stand out. Note that both blouses are loosely fitted and tucked in.

Coming away from the traditional white blouse, we have color, stripes and geometry. The Miu Miu blouse (left) is reminscent of the Prada blouse with its traditional loosely fitted cutting. But the geometric print on it definitely gives it some color and extra cool, making it very this season. Paul Smith also makes very good blouses. And the color striped one (right) is very well made indeed. Because besides the cutting, there are also very intricately done, colorful floral edges, giving it a more feminine touch. The bright thin belt on both loosely fitted blouses also adds femininity by emphasizing the "tiny waist."

Take the blouse even further and knot the blouse like Matthew Williamson's very colorful one on the left. This method of wearing it, instantly transforms the formal blouse to something very casual and in this case, beachy. Or add on the frills, scrunched sleeves and bows for a very very feminine blouse, like the pink Vuitton one on the right.

This Polo Sport white blouse is a good, more realistic, version of the traditional white blouse. I've always believed that Ralph Lauren made good blouses, and since Polo Sport is a division of it, the cutting of this should be quite good.

I also love the Abercrombie blouses. And this one would be perfect for the colorful striped look. I'm not sure about this one, but the one I have, they have gorgoues diamond-like buttons on the sleeves and the inside of the sleeve has polka dot prints on it. So it looks gorgeous both as it is and when I turn my sleeves up.

This Anthropology floral blouse is perfect for the colorful floral print look. Besides looking good by itself, just imagine how cool the color would look poking out of a shirt!

For the feminine blouse, this Urban Outfitters blouse is perfect. We love the poofy sleeves, the subtle striped pattern and the flair at the hips.

Ked's advertised by Mischa Barton

Look at these shoes: I'm sure you will agree that while they are not exceedingly ugly, they are nothing special.

As I'm sure most of you know, Mischa signed on to advertise Ked's shoes this season. Here are a few photos from the campaign. Does Mischa not look gorgeous, even in those mundane shoes?

Dress Trends Spring / Summer 2005 II

Following my report on this season's dress trends part I, which if you haven't seen it yet you must go see it, part II is finally here! Dresses are a MUST this season! Since fellow readers like you are obviously not celebrities who have special events to attend, I'm not going to show you any glam dresses today.

Since I'm feeling down-to-earth today, I thought I would give you all how-to-wear-dresses-in-2005 lecture 101. So first, here is a selection of dresses that are (mostly) affordable and very in fashion this season:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Two very pretty dresses from Free People. As mentioned in earlier post, yellow is a trendy color this season, and yellow dresses will definately liven up your outfit! Oh, and flowery prints and laces are of course also very fashionable.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com
Speaking of dresses, we of course would not not mention the oh so lovely collection by Anthropologie. They are quite pricy, but are so pretty one could not resist. The green flowery scores points for resembling one of the Burberry Prorsum dresses, and the blue one looks so casual and comfortable that you can actually stroll around your neighbourhood in.

For slightly more formal occasions, or if you just simply perfer simple outfits, these two are for you. The xx dress (by Anthropologie,) is boho influenced and has a wonderful fitting. The black lacy one is by Gap, and is perfect for looking elegant day and night!

Many people are often stuck on how to match outerwear with dresses. To look young and fun, wear the always versitile blazer (like the white one shown below,) or even wear an OVER-SIZED college sweatshirt over the dress as inspired by Marissa in the OC, (now if only all of us were smart enough to go to Harvard.)

If you are more for the more mature and stylish look, then you can wear a wrap which is oh-so-fashionable nowadays (like the black one below,) or wear a safari jacket (like the whitish khaki one below.)

I cannot stress how important it is for the fashionable to own and wear pretty day dresses anywhere and everywhere you go this season. So start looking out for your perfect dresses now!

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain. . .part IV: rain coats

Now that we have all the essential rain accessories, it is time to pull the whole look together with the perfect rain coat. And what better coat to wear in the rain then trench coats? They are practical, versatile and oh-so-cool. When it comes to trench coats, no one does it better then the inventor of the trench coat: Burberry.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Ah, the classic Burberry trench coat. Every girl should have one at some point in their lives. This color is like the British black. It goes with practically everything. And the style, well the style is simply gorgeous and makes one feel like they're walking down a chic London street. . Bond Street anyone?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

But for a more Spring 2005 look, this red floral Burberry trench is just the thing. It is a combination of the bright color and floral print that is so popular this season. And the other thing about this trench is that it is laminated! You are most defintely not going to get soaked with this on.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

But to be even more adventurous, try this white Burberry trench cape. It is water resistant, so it can keep you dry. And the cape style allows you to show off whatever you're wearing underneath. Plus, it is white so it'll match whatever it is underneath too. In addition, due to the plastic material, you won't even have to worry the white getting all dirty under the rain-defintely a bonus!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Stepping away from Burberry, other designers have also come up with brilliant trench coats. Take this stylish pink trench from Marc by Marc Jacobs for example. It retains the conventional trench style, but the cutting and style definitely differentiates it from the typical burberry.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

For a more affordable trench however, this one from Anthropology is perfect. The neat stylish cutting and pink color of this trench lends it a ladylike flair.

With these rain essentials all in place to stay dry and fashionable this season, let the raining begin!
